You know, not many would so openly admit to being a pirate. I myself prefer "privateer."

Hm, maybe pirates aren't as common where you come from? In my home, we live the Great Pirate Era. There's new pirate crews forming every year... and big crews control their parts of the biggest ocean.

We have our fair share of pirates, but most wouldn't admit it so openly. It's generally frowned upon.

Oh, it's frowned upon back in my home, too! We're wanted by the Marines, you know. We all have bounties too.

But if you can't live your life freely and reach for your dreams... it's not really worth it, right?

As for what I do now, I sit on the throne of Ravka. Metaphorically speaking, that is. With so much else to be done, I find myself with very little time for actually sitting on the throne.

Yes, that's how it seems to go, most royals I know don't actually sit on any thrones... but if you're a king, then you must be really rich!

[Kidding, kidding... He has never once told a lie in his life. He's just going to omit the fact that he's deep in debt after borrowing so much to keep his country afloat.]

Well, unfortunately I left all my gold and jewels in the palace. Here I'm no different from anyone else. It might be best to think of me as simply a retired privateer. ;)

Hmm, maybe not... but you don't seem like the kind to make up lies. Besides, if you were lying, you'd make up something more interesting! Anyone could think of being royalty.

Eh, I didn't think of that... oh well! A retired privateer will have to do.
